The Chicago Independent Radio Project is working to secure a broadcast license for a new community radio station in Chicago that is committed to local, independent programming, and generally furthering the causes of localism, diversity, and independence in broadcasting. We are working to convince Congress and the FCC to remove existing barriers to the granting of low power FM radio licenses in urban areas, including Chicago. We hope you'll join the fight.

While another freakish warm weather spurt doesn’t look like it’s in the cards for us, we can always find our own escape routes. It ain’t denial; it’s just that music venues get pretty cozy real quick. Doesn’t that sound nice?

One of the following choices for this week should do the trick.

Decide between those and more, with the convenient list of this week’s fun activities we’ve provided for you!

But first, something to get you into the mood…

Embrace the cold. Throw on that pullover, attend a musical performance (It’s easy! See below for the good ones!), then find a cute sweater-donning pal. Suggest a mutual hand-warming technique, perhaps? Ah, getting cozy, listening to great music — what more could you ask for in this weather?

Note: Take a style tip from this guy. And don’t forget our event listing for your best bets. Good luck, Casanova.
