The Chicago Independent Radio Project is working to secure a broadcast license for a new community radio station in Chicago that is committed to local, independent programming, and generally furthering the causes of localism, diversity, and independence in broadcasting. We are working to convince Congress and the FCC to remove existing barriers to the granting of low power FM radio licenses in urban areas, including Chicago. We hope you'll join the fight.

Warblings and CHIRPs this Wednesday at Rodan

This week, why not spend a chill Wednesday night at Rodan with CHIRP!

DJs Carrie Weston and Chris Widman spin some of the best electronic music at this benefit for the Chicago Independent Radio Project.

Things get underway at 10pm, with drink specials like $2 PBR and $5 ruby red Yachtsmans.

There’s no cover, but 15% of the bar will go to CHIRP, thanks to our good friends at Rodan. This will help us start our new online station later this summer, all while we continue to work to change the law so we can also bring a new broadcast station to Chicago.
